New Release - The Robotic Age
"You can't trust those 'bots. Androids just want us to think they are thinking beings, they want us to treat them like we treat each other, so that we won’t see an attack coming. You give androids the right to vote, and they vote their kind into office the same day the death squads are formed. You think you can stop an army of metal men with plasma weapons built right into their arm?! Ha! And don't think those cyborgs are any better. They are just trying to become more android so they might be spared in the robot apocalypse. Traitors to their own species, all of them. Trust me, the moment you treat 'bots like they are human is the moment they take over!" – Frank “Bot-Killer” Thomas during the 2112 SSA election.
The Robotic Age is a game where man lives long side machine. Sentient androids are trying to find their place among people that, at best, don’t trust them and at worst want to destroy them. Weapon technology is spiraling out of control, killer drones can be built in a garage, and anyone on the street can have enough cybernetic enhancements to make them a killing machine. The world is changing rapidly and no one knows if the new age will be that of peace, or dominance.
Build the android, transhuman, cyborg, or human character you always wanted and equip them with the weapon of your dreams, from plasma cannons, to grenade launchers, energy swords and more. Explore cyberspace, fight for android rights, travel to mars, or just help prevent the world from descending into chaos in The Robotic Age.

Chronicle City Developing Dark Harvest 2nd Edition
What if Frankenstein got it right?
What if Victor Frankenstein had embraced his discoveries rather than seeking to destroy them?
Rejected by his peers and his family, hunted by the Creature, Victor slips into the background of history. Manipulating people, events, whole countries, Frankenstein slowly plans and executes his revenge.
Carved out of the Balkan conflicts of the mid-1800’s, Victor Frankenstein hijacks the unification of Romania and creates his own country: Promethea. Established on high ideals of equality and scientific advancement for the good of all, the reality is very different.
Creating Promethea saw Victor make deals that compromised the integrity of his vision. Almost literally walled off from the rest of Europe, Promethea is a nightmare where the rich elite feed off the beauty and strength of the poor. While incredible advances across all scientific disciplines promise a bright future, the land is blighted by a new feudal regime – the Harvest.
Even as Frankenstein moves to bring Promethea in line with his original vision, so he is stalked by the Creature. Seeking to destroy all his creator’s works, the Creature and the resistance movement he leads often find they share Frankenstein’s goals. Both Victor and the Creature know that Frankenstein’s gift must never escape the fortified borders of Promethea, bringing the dark harvest to all the world.
Dark Harvest: The Legacy of Frankenstein is an award winning dark gothic fantasy setting with disturbing echoes of our modern world created and developed by Iain Lowson. Set in Promethea, a country carved from the chaotic politics of the Balkans in the mid 19th Century by Victor Frankenstein, the game is set in 1910 – during a time of industrial and scientific revolution against a backdrop of a brutally feudal regime where all but the elite must fear the ‘Harvest’.
Iain Lowson has come on board as the lead developer of the second edition of Dark Harvest, which is already in development, and we are planning to release the core rule book in Spring 2015 followed by support material in both electronic and printed form.
"Having worked on the first edition of the game I’m very excited to be revisiting Promethea with Iain a second time and building on such a great setting.” –Angus Abranson
Dark Harvest: Legacy of Frankenstein is a detailed, fascinating game setting, a terrifyingly plausible alternative history and a fiction anthology; a gothic horror fantasy that will appeal to gamers and the general public alike.

EN World Reviews BRP Mecha
EN World reviews Basic Roleplaying Mecha in the article Mecha-Gaming! GO! With Basic Roleplaying Mecha from Alephtar Games.
Overall, there is a lot of source material and content in BR Mecha, and some fine rule tweaks to make it work with the BRP system. Given what comes in this PDF, RPG fans of Mecha should definitely check this book out, particularly if they like the idea of creating their own setting where giant robot warriors can do battle with kaiju, aliens, or other threats to mankind as yet unknown…

To honor the Aesir, the men and dwarves of the north forged totems and weapons imbued with great power.”

The City gets ‘Punked!
Chronicle City to Publish & Develop Punktown
Punktown is a setting book for the Call of Cthulhu and Basic Roleplaying systems. It explores a dark, haunting, cyberpunk city full of aliens, robots and mutants all set in the world of Jeffrey Thomas’ novel series.
With Punktown being the last project by Miskatonic River Press before they wind down operations MRP’s President, Tom Lynch, approached Chronicle City’s founder, Angus Abranson, about looking after the project.
“I was one of the backers of the Punktown Kickstarter and have been a fan of Miskatonic River Press for years. I’d offered any help from an early stage so Tom knew I was interested, which probably helped his decision.” – Angus Abranson.
The partnership also means that Punktown will live on beyond the core book as Chronicle City and author Jeffrey Thomas will be collaborating on developing future products to support, explore and grow the game. With the release of the core setting book (expected in February 2014) we will also be releasing a Gamemasters Screen and will be announcing further support material in both PDF and physical formats.
About Miskatonic River Press
Miskatonic River Press has produced such critically acclaimed gaming titles such as New Tales of the Miskatonic Valley, Our Ladies of Sorrow, and Tales of the Sleepless City. Punktown represents its foray into the dark future envisioned by its creator Jeffrey Thomas. MRP President, Tom Lynch, is thrilled to be working with Angus and Chronicle City to give Punktown game books a future beyond the core book.
